Prologue

Ancient races were born from the Ether and sent down to the Sanctum to 'awaken' its peoples.
The 'Awakened' are feared by their peoples, but more so, by their kings. Too blinded by the struggle
for ultimate power, the rulers of the Three Kingdoms failed to see that the ether-energy ('ethergy')
some individuals possessed would destroy them all. The cities in ruin, the Sanctum became a world
of hardship and tears, joy and redemption, faithfulness, wickedness, hope, and despair. With their
King dying, the peoples of the broken kingdoms have twelve princes to choose from: One ruler to
build upon the ruins, unite his peoples, and create a new world of harmony... Or to obliterate every
prayer of peace anyone held in their hearts.

News of seven princes dying spreads across the Sanctum. In order to protect the youngest prince
and lifelong friend, Moraleous, one of the Awakened--Gavrielle--takes on the responsibility of personal
bodyguard. Her quest to help the young prince succeed throws a stone into the silence, the echoes
revealing truths not all are ready to hear. Listening to the voice in her heart, Gavrielle places her life
in grave danger to protect the prince and the goodness they believe in, finds a stranger in need, and
gathers a group who support the new rule of Prince Moraleous. With the old rule broken, the only
dangers now seem to be bounty-hunters and assassins... sent by the Prince Caluccius.
